If you have been trying to learn how to stop ringing in ears, you might have come across the fact that ringing in ears, or tinnitus as it is known in doctors circles, has no cure. This might have bummed you out a bit. However, this statement can be a bit misleading. You have to look beneath the surface of your condition to find out the real reason why your ears are ringing. Let's take a look at some common situations tinnitus sufferers go through, and come up with some inexpensive and natural remedies to help you know how to stop ringing in ears.

Tinnitus is happening in your ear because of some minor nerve damage, or a topsy-turvy biological condition. Maybe you go to way too many concerts. Perhaps your iPod volume level is set to eleven. Solution? Ear plugs for the concerts, and lower volume levels when listening to the iPod. Most solutions for ringing ears are this simple. Next, look to the medications your are taking for other symptoms or problems. If you take a lot of aspirin every day, or anti-inflammatory medications, even sedatives, all of these could be the reason your ears are constantly ringing. Either reduce your amounts, or tell your doctor so he or she can prescribe an alternative or a lower amount to still be effective. This reduction should take care of the tinnitus.

Now let's look at one of the most overlooked and under-appreciated reasons for your tinnitus. Your diet. Most people who have a poor diet don't think it is a problem. Bad nutrition is indeed a problem, and not just for the obese citizens of the world. Poor nutrition leads to numerous medical issues, for which a doctor visit would be necessary. But eating the wrong kinds of foods, or not enough of the right kinds of foods can be a reason why your ears are ringing. So, ask yourself if you drink coffee or tea, or smoke cigarettes. Start by reducing or cutting out these things from your daily lives. See if your ears ring less. If not, look at things like chocolate, avocados, cheese, or soy. Even salt and certain types of fatty foods can be ear ringing culprits. Get rid of them.

Can't sleep at night because of all that infernal racket going on inside your head? Funny thing is, you can't sleep because of the constant ringing in ears, but the constant ringing in ears is caused by lack of proper sleep. There are two things you can do to help get a good night's rest. Go to sleep listening to the sound of running water, like from a waterfall or the shower. Or, turn your radio on to the FM dial, and tune in to the area between the stations, where all the constant white noise lingers. Listen to both of these noise sources, running water or static, at barely audible levels. It will be enough to soothe the sound inside your head by matching the cadence and tone outside your head.

These are some quick and simple solutions to look at for immediate relief. Knowing how to stop constant ringing in ears is only a matter of knowing what inside of you is causing the problem, and going after that, rather than trying to find the nonexistent cure for tinnitus. If none of these workFind Article, discuss some other problem causes with your doctor and work to find a cure for those. Relief of your tinnitus should follow.
