It goes without saying that working as any profession in the health care industry can be hard and strenuous. It can be even more hectic to work as a physician assistant on a daily basis, but even though this is true this profession is still one of the best in the health care industry right now. A physician assistant is always supervised by a licensed physician and they aren’t allowed to practice medicine unless they are working collaboratively with a physician on all of their patient cases. If you are sure that this is the career for you then you need to know that to get into a physician assistant school there are certain requirements and prerequisites that you have to meet to get admission, and not only that but you have to do an interview as well.

Another requirement that most physician assistant schools have for their applicants is that they have to have experience working in health care, and they have to have a bachelors degree. Applicants normally already have their work experience because they were already employed as some kind of health care worker prior to applying. Some men and women are already orderlies, EMTs, respiratory therapists, registered nurses and they are other kinds of workers as well.

Even though some PA schools will accept applicants who only have an associates most are only taking those who have a bachelors now. You also need to make sure that you attend a physician assistant school that has its accreditation from the AAPA  because you won’t be eligible to take the certification exam unless you have graduated from an accredited PA school. Now when it comes to the physician assistant interview you’ll have to do, you should definitely know that the most common question they are going to ask you is why do you want to become a PA  so be prepared for that one.
