Unfortunately infertility was wholly and solely attributed to females in many countries.

In current times it is known that either of the couple could be infertile. Some of the causes of infertility are described below:

Ovulation problems are due to many reasons. The abnormality in ovaries prevents the release of mature and healthy eggs. This is assessed by absence or irregularity in the periods. Controlled hormone treatment and ovulation stimulation drugs can lead to successful pregnancy.

Sperms poor in quality or numbers often lead to infertility in men. The reason could be chromosomal abnormalities, damaged testicles or undersized under developed testis. There could be a blockage in vas deferens that could prevent mobility of the sperms. The blockage is most often caused by vericoceles or varicose veins. Some sexually transmitted diseases are also the cause of blockages.

Endometriosis is due to damage to linings of uterus where in endometrial tissue are scarred. Repeated miscarriages and painful periods are best diagnosis in this case. The procedure used is laparoscopic surgery to remove abnormal tissues.

POS or polycystic ovarian syndrome is another cause of inability to conceive in females. In this case the ovaries have harmful cysts and cause irregularity in periods as well. Hormonal imbalance is associated with POS. Other signs of poly cystic ovaries are weight gain and excessive hair growth.

Tube blockage in females causes inability to conceive. The damaged or blocked fallopian tubes are removed using laparoscopy in the clinics. If surgical procedure fails IVF helps achieve pregnancy.

Apart from these causes there may be reason for infertility. To succeed in fertility number of treatments may be required in case of complex problems. The fertility expert doctor is the best to judge and decide on the method of treatment to be employed.
