The acceptable size of a woman's breasts has always been subjective. In the Jazz Age of the 1920s,
our cultured embraced the look of flappers, women who defied conventional culture with a look that included short skirts, heavy makeup, a petite chest, and bobbed hair. Women who were not blessed with small breasts altered their look to create a flat-chested appearance that was a hallmark for flappers.
Today, the free flowing liquor in the backroom of a speakeasy filled with Jazz music and law-defying flappers is over, replaced by night clubs filled with provocatively dressed women sipping on elaborate cocktails and listening to techno. Instead of playing down their feminine assets as the flappers did, today's fashions call for playing them up.
With many women lacking confidence that they meet the standards of our society - the concept of breast augmentation has taken root and grown in both acceptance and popularity.

If we have learned anything from the past in our culture it is that not every woman has the same size breasts and not every woman is unhappy with what they have; but if you are unhappy, at least today you have surgical options to have the body you want for all of the right reasons.
