Some people succumb to the lure of plastic surgery as an anti ageing technique. When this process concerns the eyes, it is called blepharoplasty.

In this anti ageing process,Is Plastic Surgery Needed For Ageing Eyes? Articles the eyelids (both upper and lower) are lifted and excess skin and fatty tissue are removed. While this particular surgery only affects the eyes, many people choose to have it done along with surgery/surgeries that affect the face. One of these other surgeries that is very common and affects the way your eyes look is a brow lift.

When the above mentioned method of anti-ageing (blepharoplasty) is used, surgeons may have different techniques:

A newer technique, which benefits people with dark circles and slightly loose skin under their eyes, is to use a laser. Energy from a laser is highly concentrated and this concentrated energy coagulates blood, reducing bleeding (both during the operation and during the healing process).

Swelling after surgery is generally less when this process is used.

If excess skin is not present, another method of surgery may be used. In this process, the lid's lining is incised and fatty tissue is removed.

The method, mentioned above is a process in which both eyelids are lifted and excess fatty tissue is removed. You can expect at least 2 hours, but usually no longer than three, for this process. To accomplish this form of anti ageing, an incision is made directly on the crease of the lid and the lower layer of tissue son punctured.

Then the pad of fat found there is removed. This is then sealed by cauterization (heat by laser). If needed, the loose skin on the exterior eyelid is then removed and affected area is closed (usually by suture). This is the most invasive form of anti-ageing surgery for the eyes.

There is a way to tighten the skin on both upper and lower lids. By accomplishing this tightening effect, the face appears younger. This process is done through radiofrequency treatments, which do not need any incision to tighten slightly loose lids. The process can be done in just one treatment but may take more, depending on the severity of the ageing process. Radiofrequency treatments will not require an after surgery recovery time and have few complications.

If you choose to go with surgery, you can expect the following post-op procedures and effects:

Slight discomfort (which may be helped by utilization of regular cold compresses), including minor swelling and bruising which should last no longer than 2 weeks. Minimal use of blood-thinning, over the counter medications (like aspirin) can reduce the amount of bruising you experience.

Stitches will have to be removed, usually after a period of about 5 days.

Like all other surgeries, especially plastic surgeries, there may be complications. The most common (but still infrequent) of these is skin that is too tight, giving you a constant look of surprise. To correct this, you will have to undergo further surgery/surgeries. Extremely rare is that bleeding may occur in the eye socket; this may require surgery to remove clotting.

If you are considering plastic surgery as a form of completing an anti ageing process, you need to be diligent in collecting information about the surgery you want done and you need to thoroughly investigate the doctor you want to use.

The best way to find a good doctor is to find one who is not only experienced but has several patients that you have seen results on and talked to about their experience.
