LASIK Fact #1How can you decide who to perform your LASIK surgery in Michigan?

Do you decide based on price?? Maybe location is the most important factor!

But what about experience?

And does it matter which laser the surgeon uses??

In this series of articles,Lasik Facts #1 Articles you will learn may things that surgeons don't want to discuss with their patients. Some of these facts will amaze you! Some may make you uncomfortable. All of them will give you more information, and an informed patient is a happy patient!

LASIK Fact Number One:You Get What You Pay For

The price for LASIK seems to vary from $399 per eye to over $2000 per eye. Many patients ask me why I charge $1800 per eye for surgery. Simply put, you get what you pay for!! Cost cutting lasik centers have many methods for reducing costs, most of which involve the use of inferior or older technology to perform surgery, and use of non-physicians to perform the preop and postop care. Can you imagine meeting your surgeon for the first time when he or she walks into the room to perform your surgery? There are charts available on some websites that can help you compare which features are included in the charges.

Personally, when I need surgery, I want my surgeon to be involved in every element of my care. And I know that I will have to pay for that. After all, it costs your surgeon much less to have a paraprofessional perform some aspects of your care than for the surgeon to do it his or herself!

So that is the way the I run my practice. I perform all preop, surgical, and postoperative care for my patients myself!! This type of personalized care is sort of rare these days, but it is the only way to really make sure that every element of LASIK surgery in Michigan is taken care of properly.
