The FlowCal 5000 is durable, certified, and accurate at low flow rates. It measures flows accurately to 1l/minute and is guaranteed to be linear from 50L/min to 25mL/min. Traceable and certified, all FlowCal 5000 flow meters are calibrated to the end users specifications.  They are supplied with standard single-point calibration at 1 mL/min, standard three-point calibration at 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mL/min, or custom calibration.

The principle of operation is the repeated and accurate measurement of the transit time of a meniscus between two optical sensors.  To enable very low flow rates to be measured rapidly, the measuring volume is about 0.14 mL and all bores have been reduced to a minimum. At a flow rate of 2mL/min the flow meter reading is updated every 15 seconds. Flow rate is independent of liquid type up to a viscosity of 10 centipoise.  The unit is suitable for measurement of all common HPLC solvents. 

The FlowCal 5000 is compact and lightweight, with a weight of only 12 ounces.  The data is displayed on a large 4-digit Liquid Crystal Display and can be output to a printer or computer via the RS232 interface to the full 6-digit reading. A miniature thermal printer is available as an option.
