Liposuction is one of the most popular forms of plastic surgery in the world. It is especially popular with women who have maintained a good physique but are unable to get rid of a troublesome pocket of fat. Showing just how popular the surgery is, former Playboy Bunny Kendra Wilkinson has pledged that she will be having the procedure done after having a second baby.

Wilkinson, best known for being a part of the VH1 reality shows, “The Girls Next Door” and her own show, “Kendra”, is quite well known for having one of the best bodies in Hollywood. Of course, as time shows again and again, even starlets are not immune to the havoc pregnancy can wreak on the female figure. Wilkinson has had one child so far with her husband Hank Baskett and was notably unhappy with the weight she gained during the pregnancy. She reportedly gained 55 pounds in the nine months and struggled to get rid of the weight following birth.

To make matters worse, she had a C-section, which can make getting back into shape after a pregnancy many times harder. Of course, liposuction is not approved as a weight loss strategy. This is a major misconception among many people, who confuse the procedure with being an easy way to lose weight. For instance, should Wilkinson have wanted the procedure while still carrying around 55 extra pounds, few doctors would have felt comfortable letting her do it. The procedure is intended to be the last mile in a road to a better body. Diet and exercise should always be the primary components of weight loss. The surgery can take care of that last five to ten pounds, often situated in a very localized area (which can be difference depending on body type and structure).

Sometimes a tummy tuck is performed along with liposuction, which is something the former Playmate might want to avail herself of. She has complained of having loose abdominal skin following her pregnancy, something liposuction by itself will do little to get rid of. A tummy tuck is a procedure where extra skin is removed from the abdominal area and the muscles in the stomach and tightened up and the wall strengthened. These two procedures together can make an amazing difference in a person’s appearance, even if that person used to pose in the pages of Playboy.
