Liposuction surgery is a good way to get rid of fat in the short term. If you can’t afford another round of surgeries, what can you do?

Many doctors and patients alike do not want to admit the ugly truth,Liposuction Surgery - Fat Free a Year Later Articles but it is out there. Most patients who receive lipo treatments are back to their pre-procedure weight within a year of having the liposuction surgery. This happens more often than we care to recognize: a few pounds of fat off the arms or ankles and a few pounds of fat finds its way onto the tummy and thighs.

Experts will tell you that this is natural. Researchers believe it has evolutionary roots. Our bodies are designed to store fat. Thousands of years ago we were required to expend a lot more energy in order to hunt and gather food. Historically, we were required to go longer periods of time without eating. Fat storage was a way to survive.

As a species, our bodies have developed and evolved over the years to properly cope with some of the new diets ands foods. We have become more efficient in digesting a variety of foods, rather than just coarse grains and meats. However, the body’s desire to store fat remains, even though we don’t expend as much physical energy.

How does this have anything to do with liposuction surgery? Because our bodies work hard to store fat, there is only one way, or perhaps to ways, to make lipo truly successful. Exercise and diet are the only ways you can truly reap the benefits of the procedure year after year.

It is almost guaranteed that if you have a lipo procedure done on one part of your body and you make no change in your exercise or diet regiment, then you will gain the fat back in another area. If you change your exercise and diet habits dramatically along with getting liposuction surgery, it is almost standard that you will keep off the unwanted pounds.

The simple truth is that we need to continually trick our bodies into believing that they need to burn those extra calories being stored. Trick our bodies into tapping into that rainy day fat storage and use it. If you are burning more calories than you are taking in, you can achieve this balance.

Your successful diet doesn’t have to be anything newfangled either. Doctors suggest that a diet rich in raw or fresh fruits and vegetables is a good start. Many veggies require our bodies’ effort to digest them, burning calories as we eat.

Of course, we can’t forget the exercise. When you have fully recovered from your lipo treatment, you need to get out there and work up a sweat. One word of caution: talk to you doctor about when you can expect a full recovery. Each person recovers differently from the procedure and you definitely do not want to risk it. Exercises involving cardio and stretching can help you reach a good balance.

Don’t be one of the statistics. Keep your fat off through exercise and diet after you have worked so hard to remove it with liposuction surgery.
