There is a lot of talk these days about paraben free products, as more and more research is pointing to the dangers products containing these ingredients pose.  You might want to find out for yourself what all the buzz is about.  Read on.

A number of researchers and skin care experts who have once asked what is paraben have discovered that this preservative normally found in skin care products such as shampoos, moisturizers, shaving creams, and lotions can be toxic. It becomes even more dangerous the longer the person is exposed to it. It can do the following:

    * Alter the estrogen processes among women, increasing the tendency of developing estrogen-dependent diseases like breast tumors
    * Heighten the existing allergic reactions experienced by the user
    * Decrease the sperm cell count among males
    * Promote skin allergic reactions like contact dermatitis and rosacea
    * Spur the development of skin cancer
    * Cause problems to fetal development for pregnant women

Paraben Free Products: You have Options

Keep in mind, though, that a lot of these studies still require further proof, but it doesn’t mean that you have to forego these telltale signs. The most important thing is you can keep yourself out of trouble as much as possible. One way to do it is to choose paraben free products.

Products without parabens are considered less toxic. This is because they get rid of these synthetic chemicals in their ingredients. Rather, they stick to organic ones such as essential oils, antioxidants, and plant-based extracts that have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal characteristics—similar to parabens. There are also no artificial agents used for coloring, and the fragrance of them is normally natural.

Some of the better paraben free products may contain the following:

1. Essential oils. Rubbing oil into your face or any part of your body seems to be illogical; however, essential oils that are extracted from plants and used in paraben free products can be highly effective in removing those makeup residues and other synthetic chemicals in your skin. They are very gentle and so mild that even those that have highly sensitive skin will less likely develop allergic reactions to them.

2. Antioxidants. Your body needs antioxidants to help remove those free radicals or toxins within. Fortunately, they are already included in some paraben free products. Thus, not only are you able to maintain that glowing and beautiful skin, but you will also reduce the signs of aging and causes of cancer.

3. Vitamin E. A lot of paraben free products are rich in vitamin E, which is known to be a good nutrient for the skin. It slows down the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and offers extra sun screen for those that are constantly exposed to the harmful rays of the sun.

What is paraben? It’s a chemical that is mainly used as a preservative but is now considered a threat to one’s health. What is a product without a paraben? It’s the best option you havePsychology Articles, so take it.
