Wheelchair.ca is a great site where you can get useful information,Medical Equipment Information Articles ask questions and get answers on all medical equipment relating to wheelchairs and walkers and medical equipment for those who are physically disabled. Wheelchair lifts, patient lifts, bath safety products, elevators, hospital beds, scooters, are all products which no one thinks about because it can never happen to you, and so you don’t think about it.

If someone in the family has had a stroke or has been in an accident and can’t walk, there will be a need for a wheelchair or three-wheel scooter, depending on the patient’s condition. There will be a period of adjustment where the patient has to come to grips with what has happened to him. If the need is created as a result of a sudden medical event, the family and the patient have to make many decisions in a short period of time to decide what, if any home and vehicle modifications are needed, and what home medical equipment will have to be hired or bought.

For instance, when  buying a wheelchair you will have the option of choosing what kind of wheelchair you are interested in; a manual wheelchair, kids wheelchair, one arm drive wheelchair, manual or power assists, a power wheelchair, and what kind of cushioning: basic cushioning, positioning cushion, pressure relief cushion, specialty cushion, and whether backrest or not.

It may be that you are not interested in a wheelchair, but a motorized scooter. If you are planning to go outdoors, you may need an indoor/outdoor scooter where you have to take the terrain into account. As well, there is a three-wheel scooter which because of only having one wheel in front and two at the back, can get into tighter corners. Below is some of the information you can find on Wheelchair.ca.

1                     Product information – where you can find detailed information on specific types of equipment, variations of the equipment, and some reasons why some wheelchairs and other equipment will benefit some people and not others.
