My Mom On Polypharmacy

My mom is suffering from diabetes, hypertension, diabetic neuropathy, visual and a host of other problems.  Her day begins and ends with taking medications.  These medicines are given to improve her quality of life and to keep problems at bay.

Since she is suffering from so many problems, we have to be very careful about what interaction of medicines.  This just narrows down the scope of the medicines she can take or not.

Her problem with her gums started to be of much an issue when it started to bleed.  Since she was diabetic, it was really important to control that.  She has a problem with healing of the wounds.

This situation of hers was literally tearing me inside.  I didn’t know what to do or where to turn to.  I took her to a dentist but since she was on polypharmacy, we never really had the option to start a new medication.
