Nail/Cuticle Oil â€" Tools For Nail Care

So caring for nails is as important as caring for the hands and feet.

It is given that applying manicure on nails in a weekly basis is necessary for a well groomed hand and feet, and part of proper manicure goes along with the application of quality nail or cuticle oil.

This type of oil before was not acceptable since it is a bit messy and awkward to use, but as technology permits cuticle oil evolves and now presents a wide variety of fragrant and flavored oils. There are also the style applicators such as the pen and stick type, these are brushes and sponge applicator with fine tips for the application to be more accurate.

Tip: Usage of cuticle or nail oil depends on the dryness of the cuticle and the extent of cracking, and application might be different depending on the personal need. However, under normal circumstances usage of this oil should be reduced, instead use of normal hand and nail moisturizing cream is recommended.

Tip: If there's severe dryness and chronic nail and cuticle separation use of cuticle oil is needed to deeply moisturize the skin, nails and cuticles. Cuticle will be attached back to nails and nails and skin cracking will be eliminated.

Tip: Skin and nails can adapt into frequent usage of cuticle oils that makes nails more prone to cracking and dryness if cuticle oil is not maintained.

Tip: Nail or cuticle oil is more expensive than regular nail moisturizers.

Here's a simple way to apply cuticle oil while doing the manicure at home.

You need

- Nail non-acetone polish remover and a cotton ball

- 2 small hand towels

- A pair of cuticle remover/nipper

- An orange stick

- A small bowl of warm water and a gentle soap

- A container of cuticle oil

- Nail polish of your color preference

The procedure

- Make the hands free from all nail polish and avoid the remover getting into the cuticle.

- Place one hand on the warm water for 3-5 minutes making the cuticles soft, pat it dry. Repeat the same method to the other hand.

- Shove any loose cuticle from the base and sides of the fingernails using the angled end of the orange stick.

- Trim excess cuticles using the cuticle nipper. Remember that removing too much cuticle can cause additional dryness, cracking and an injury to the cuticle or finger. Do this method on both hands.

- Put in nail polish avoiding it to overlap onto the freshly trimmed cuticle area, this will cause additional dryness to the cuticle because of the alcohol from the nail polish.

- Put on a small amount of cuticle oil on the cuticle area. Cuticle oil may need to be applied once or more times a day to treat severe dryness and cracking.
