Detoxing the body

One of the latest revelations in the health & fitness world is niacin flushing. You might know niacin as vitamin b3,Niacin Flushing Explained Articles and taking niacin flush, simply means that you try to cleanse the body by consciously taking in an overdose of niacin. This article will explain the basics of niacin flushing to you.

How it works

When you consume an overdose of niacin (generally more than 100 mg within 24 hours) your veins will instantly widen. This will stimulate blood flow, especially in the capillaries, where normally the blood flow is very weak. This gives your body a chance to get rid of toxic waste that clutters in the fatty tissue. This process can also improve cholesterol.

Overdosing

One of the most asked questions is: Well, how can I efficiently overdose niacin? In the Western world, almost all diary and whole grain products have some amounts of niacin. So it is very easy to attain your daily recommended dose of niacin, living in a developed country.

However, in order to overdose, you will have to know which foods are dense in niacin and which are not. A good tip I can give you is to note down in a notepad, how much niacin you consume per day. If you consume too much niacin, it can lead to some very nasty side effects.

The following foods have the highest niacin density:

1.       Shiitake mushrooms (1 cup). These inhibit 6.50 mg niacin.

2.       Chicken breast (4 OZ-wt). This equals 11.40 mg niacin.

3.       Tamari (1 tabs).  This soy sauce has 0.9 mg niacin.

Avoiding Side Effects

In order to avoid side effects, please be sure to take in an aspiring, 30 minutes prior to niacin consumption. This will lower the intensity of the side effects like reddening of the skin and a burning feeling in the chest. Other things that might help are garlic extracts and spinach.
