For those who are in the field of Medicine,Nick Heywood-Smith and His Role in the Medical Field Articles Wellness & Lifestyles, of W&L, Australia is probably something you have already heard of. For those people who do not have a ring about W&L, this is a fast-growing company that provides mobile allied health services not just in the great Land of Oz, but in other countries as well. It is founded by Nick Heywood-Smith and his wife, Nikki, way back in 2003. This post is going to talk about the W&L and the man who started it all.

What exactly is W&L Australia?

As stated a while ago, this company is one of the most distinguished agencies that provide mobile allied health services. Apart from this, it also offers online and offline education as well as consultancy when it comes to aged care. In addition to this, other services would include podiatric, dietetics, and speech pathology.

The company started with Nick and Nikki as the only manpower. As the years go by, the number of workers has also increased. Today, Wellness and Lifestyles Australia has over a hundred staffs of therapists and nurses, who are all working hard to make available the best health care service they can give to their clients.

The company’s reputation does not only make them well known in the southern part of Australia, but also in the entire continent. This is because Nick makes sure that his team of workers are not only licensed professionals, but also knowledgeable and competitive with regards to the demanding works at hand.

What inspired Nick to start W&L?

When he was only a kid, Nick, together with his sister, was already exposed to hands-on activities that involve taking care of the needy. This is because they have another sibling who has mental and physical disabilities. For some men and women, they would consider this as a burden; but for Nick and his family, they see this as a blessing since they were able to see and understand the needs of these special people.

Nick’s role in the field of medicine

In November 1998, Nick was able to complete his degree in Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from University of South Australia. Ever since he became a licensed physiotherapist in January 1999, he started working in various inpatient and outpatient settings in different parts of the world, prior to going back to Australia and start W&L.

Nick Heywood-Smith’s job experience would include working for the National Health Service (NHS) in Great Britain, owning and operating a business that offer spa and rehabilitation services in a small town in Austria, consulting in various private and public facilities in different regions of Canada, and providing private physiotherapist services to a double below knee amputee.
