Feel like your lower belly is bloated and pulling you down? Experiencing pelvic pain? These are only part of a variety of symptoms brought on by ovarian cysts. So what other symptoms are there to keep an eye out for?

Here is a list of the most common ones:

  • Irregular menstrual cycle (either too heavy or too light)
  • Achiness in the in the lower back and upper legs
  • Acute pain in the abdomen and even in the breast or the thigh
  • Heavy bleeding even when there is no period
  • Infertility
  • Tenderness in the breasts
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Painful sex
  • Pressure,Ovarian Cyst Symptoms Articles swelling and/or sharp pain in the lower abdomen
  • Pain in the bladder and/or the rectal region
  • Problems while urinating
  • Abnormal and sudden weight gain

Ovarian cysts are quite common and the majority disappear by themselves, but as soon as you begin to experience any of these symptoms then you better visit your GP just to be on the safe side. Leaving cysts alone when symptoms start to manifest isn’t a good idea, since it complicates your health, so the best thing is to seek treatment quickly to get your body back to normal.

In some cases, certain types of ovarian cysts can lead to more serious health issues, so here are symptoms to watch out for:

·         Dizziness

·         Light-headedness

·         Fever

·         Severe abdominal pain

·         Shortness of breath or rapid breathing

·         Vomiting

If you develop any of these it’s advisable to get checked immediately by your doctor and promptly given treatment to sort things out in the health department. Remember, never leave things too late, because your health can suffer because of it.

Some women don’t experience symptoms at all, so how do they know when an ovarian cyst will cause them problems? Getting regular check-ups is the only sure way for proper diagnosis and treatment, so jot down your appointment in your calendar or agenda and try to get examined by a professional.
