If you have not figured it out most of us Americans are paying more for health insurance each year. Included with that we are getting reduced coverage and services for the higher premiums that we pay. With premiums skyrocketing these days its getting harder to afford health insurance and I think the out-of-pocket is what's killing us.

Year after year our families struggle with hiking deductibles and co-payments. Not to mention out-of-pocket expenses and some of that can be a significant amount of money at onetime. Lots of us are faced with compromising positions that sometimes forces us to make decisions we don't want to make but we do what it takes to get by.

These unexpected out-of-pocket costs along with paying premiums is a major burden for most of us Americans. Most folks will even start to avoid any treatment at all just not to incur the charges and that's not good. It's basically a downward spiral effect, things just start getting worse and worse.

I read a story that health insurance reform may save some of us Americans by limiting the amount that those of us with insurance have to pay out of their own pocket for health care. I really need to learn more about it and I encourage everyone to do the same. If this were to happen it would certainly help American households that pay a healthy portion of their income on health care out-of-pocket expenses. Now how can you be against that?

If you don't have the right coverage (and most of us probably don't) it could lead to high out-of-pocket costs. Some problems arising from inadequate coverage is high deductibles and high copayments. In some cases benefits that are entirely useless. This all has a great affect on making health care unaffordable for us. The government need to continue to push health insurance reform, it will be great for all Americans.
