It is essential that you do due diligence on a surgeon that you are thinking of permitting to cut into your body. This involves a background check and being privy to everything you can with regard to a plastic surgeon. If you have any doubts about a doctor then take some time to think more or move onto another doctor. Do not allow yourself to feel pressured.

Being in safe hands when you are under anesthesia and being worked on is essential to your well-being. To feel as safe as possible visit the clinic or hospital yourself where your procedure will be performed and ask questions of the staff. Find out if the surgical team is prepared in the event of an emergency during the operation. Find out about the quality of the monitoring equipment that is used and find out if the physician is a member of any associations in his field. If the operation is to be performed in the doctor's own practice or clinic then find out if he has privileges at the local hospital.
