Combine strength and cardio workout

Stamina increases when the cardiovascular system is being challenged. Most people do cardio one day and weightlifting the other. Combine the two workouts instead to get work more muscles.

Reduce the amount of rest

Most people rest for 30 to 90 seconds in between sets but in order to build endurance they should be prepared to sacrifice break time. Shorten the amount of rest by a half. Perform three sets of exercises back to back with minimal breaks as possible. By the end of each set, the muscles should have been worked out.

Do fast paced high intensity training

Lifting weights at a fast pace will not only improve a person's health but it will also improve their endurance. It can also speed up the metabolism. When people only focus on endurance training, there is a great chance that their metabolism would slow down.

Choose compound movements over isolation

Compound movements like squats, push-ups and pull-ups will improve stamina better because these exercises tend to use more than one joint. Isolated exercises like bicep curls and leg lifts are not going to stimulate the muscles enough to increase stamina.

Avoid routinely exercise

Switching up workout is essential in building stamina. The human body can get easily used to workouts after just two weeks. To avoid plateaus switch up your workouts. Go for hybrid exercise

Intensify the routine by adding twist to a workout. For example, add lunges to bicep curls or alternate push-ups and jumping. Take two exercises and combine. The more the muscles are worked, the more that it will stimulate the heart which will in turn improve the stamina.

Add explosive movements

Private personal training often includes explosive movements that take a lot of strength and endurance simultaneously. Once a person starts to include explosive movements in their workouts, they start to increase their speed.

Know carbohydrates

Diet also plays an important role in building up a person's stamina. It is important to add carbohydrates into the diet to provide the necessary starches and sugar needed by the muscles to boost endurance. Carbohydrate rich food includes bread, fruits and pasta.

Manage sodium level

Rigorous exercises make the body sweat a lot more and as a result, the body loses a lot of salt through perspiration. A low level of sodium in the body can cause electrolyte imbalance which can make a person feel lightheaded and dizzy. Make sure to get enough sodium, but not too much.
