The other reason they are ideal is that the saltwater solution is virtually harmless to the human body. What makes a saline implant less than ideal for breast augmentation? Saline implants use a saltwater solution as their filler (which is a very thin liquid). Saline and silicone gel implants have evolved dramatically over the years.
