Skin Care Tips: How to Cleanse Oily Skin

Oily skin can cause a lot of problems and embarrassment. When the skin is oily it takes on a greasy, dull and shiny appearance that is not at all attractive.

Oily skin also leads to other skin problems such as acne and blemishes. To fight against oily skin and make the skin look healthy and beautiful try these skin care tips for cleansing oily skin.
  • The most important factor in combating oily skin is to keep the skin clean. Oily skin must be cleaned with a gentle cleanser though because the harsher cleaners will strip the skin which could result in the body producing more oil to compensate. Look for a deep cleansing product that is specifically geared towards oily skin and wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
  • Do not use regular soap. Soap strips the skin of the natural oils that it needs. Instead look for products that will gently clean the skin without doing any damage.
  • Clay masks can help to clean deep down into the pores. Try using one once a week to get a thorough cleaning. With clay masks less is more. Don’t be fooled into thinking that if it works good once a week then it will work even better every day. Clay masks should not be done more than once a week as this could end up doing more harm than good to your skin.
  • Alpha Hydroxy (AHA) creams can be very beneficial to combating oily skin. These products help to increase the collagen in the skin and treat superficial lines as well.
  • Acne treatments and astringents can also be beneficial to oily skin.

If none of the above mentioned skin care tips for cleansing oily skin seem to help there are professional skin care treatments that can be prescribed by a dermatologist such as Retin A, DifferinFree Web Content, Tazorac and Accutane.
