Have you ever just walked in a room and had to leave because of a certain smell that you couldn’t stand,That Smells Good: The effect of smells in your brain. Articles while there are some people who walk in and are drawn to the same smell? It is strange how our mind works and how certain smells bring back certain memories and others can make us sick.

There is actually a science dedicated to smells called aromatherapy.  This alternative method of treatments uses the smells of plants and herbs to help curb physical pain as well as mental issues (depression, anxiety, etc). Although people will put this form of alternative medicine down, saying it is just a bunch of crap, the effects of certain smells on the brain can be extremely therapeutic and helpful to a person who truly wants to improve whatever aliment they have.

For example, the smell of lavender is supposed to relax and sooth a person. Message therapists use lavender as a therapeutic smell for relaxing messages or stress reliving treatments.  Lavender can also be used as a headache cure. Examples of products containing lavender range from lotions to bath bubbles or bath salts.

Another essential oil gives that gives off the smell of tangerines is supposed to wake you up and keep you high in energy. So any therapeutic cleanser that you use for your morning cleansing routine, containing tangerine oil, will greatly increase your energy and start off your day with a kick. An example of a product that contains tangerine oil is from an online skin care business by the name of Dermajuv. Their Therapeutic Cleansing Gel contains tangerine oil as an active ingredient to wake you up as well as clean your face. Other ingredients included in the Therapeutic Cleansing Gel are Shea butter and chamomile extract, which both have great smells as well.

Aromatherapy is a very interesting subject to learn about, but I believe the most interesting part about the whole concept is the simple fact that you can trick your mind into solving almost any aliment you have. Be it physical or mental, you just have to believe in your cause and the rest of you will keep up.  Therapeutic cleansers, therapeutic oils, or any type of therapeutic product will help any person with a good sense of smell. You just have to let go and allow the ingredients to work their magic.
