Some believe that sleep could help with weight gain. It is true in a way, but depriving yourself of a sufficient good night’s rest may also add on the pounds. As with starving yourself, lack of sleep leads to the slowing down of your metabolism. The slower it is, the lesser calories are burned. Instead of shedding off the fat, the body stores it since it needs the fat as an energy source.

 

Exercise is another crucial factor in the weight loss equation. Don’t trust those who say it’s all about proper diet because it isn’t. The proper combination of diet, rest and exercise is what successful athletes follow. Exercise maintains weight and burns the calories your body doesn’t need. Not to mention, it keeps your organs functioning well. But do remember not to overdo it. Too much of something will make things even worse.
