Recently, death threats targeted law makers who pushed through U.S. President Obama's Health Insurance Plan. The Plan has scores of American voters and tax payers up in arms. This Plan will serve well those who are unemployed, uninsured, un-insurable and those who have serious health issues as well as healthy young adults. This Plan is not so good for those who have good insurance and benefits. This Plan threatens to increase premium rates with no added benefits. Could this be what needs to be changed in this Plan?

While many sit on their high horse believing that those without insurance are just lazy or that we should not have to pay more for our insurance to help benefit all Americans there are people who are dying and going bankrupt each day trying to receive the health care they desperately need. A majority of the people who are opposed to helping Americans pay for their health care will send money for the relief of Haiti, to starving children in third world nations or will donate to different charities. This seems a bit off kilter but it is likely that they are not looking at this as a charitable donation.

This tax write off may not be the only reason for hostile behavior. The American government and its highest leaders and law makers at times have been guilty of implementing things in a corrupt way and forgetting who they work for. They answer to the people. After being reminded of this from time to time, the issues in question are forced to be repealed and revised again and again till it is done the right way. John Q. Public still has a loud voice. This is still the American Way.

All this complaining and being up in arms might seem justified by some. This Health Care Plan appears to be the answer for many U.S. citizens in dangerous dire straits. The bad economy caused already struggling American families to loose hope and just give up. The true scope of their plight may never be known.

Americans are notorious for fighting against unfair and unjust practices. This is especially true if it involves money where the already rich or corrupt law makers stand to benefit the most. But a much closer look at this issue might reveal this is not the case. Maybe this time the government is actually leveling the playing field to help those among us who are sick, less fortunate and struggling with their very survival. Most people will change their outlook when they slow down and take a second, longer, closer look around their neighborhood. This forces them to look beyond their small part of the whole much bigger picture and refocus on a change if needed, for the betterment of all.
