Boil or furuncle is a skin disease caused by the inflammation of hair follicles, thus resulting in the localized accumulation of pus and dead tissues.

After cleaning, put very thin layer of antibiotic ointment on area with clean fingertip and cover with a bandage. Do this once a day but if it doesn't resolve the problem do it am and pm. Many people make the mistake of touching the boil a lot when hands aren't clean or messing about with it which will introduce more bacteria to the boil. Eat foods that are rich in vitamin A and zinc, because these nutrients aid in skin healing and repair and can help relieve boils. Good sources of vitamin A include any fruit or vegetable that has a yellow or orange color—squash, yams, sweet potatoes and carrots. Zinc is found in oysters, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. Vitamin A is also found in dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale.

Avoiding sugar will help. Boils seems to happen when our diets consist of too much sugars in the diet.

Try putting warm moist compresses to help boils drain, which speeds healing. Gently soak the area with a warm, moist cloth several times each day. Please try never to squeeze a boil or attempt to lance it at home because this can spread the infection and make it worse.

Take a raw egg and crack it open. On the inside of the egg shell, there is a slippery lining. Peel the ling off and put on the boil. This will bring it to a head almost overnight.

Bread and milk poultice. Break bread into small pieces and moisten with milk and tie to area to draw out the infection. Bacon rind. Tie a piece of bacon rind over the boil or other infected area with the skin side of the rind on the outside. This will really draw out the infection.
