Tummy Tuck: Combined With Liposuction

The tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that helps to deliver a flatter, firmer and leaner abdomen to the individual who undergoes it. The procedure is one of the most commonly done throughout the entire world and this may be attributed to the fact that there are a lot of people who have gained weight and their weight gain sometimes centers mainly on the abdomen. Depending on the problem area, the doctor will make an incision and cut out the excess skin and tissue that causes the droop. When the trimming has been done, the doctor will then tape or suture the skin back. Sometimes, the medical professional will make the incisions at the sides of the abdomen, near the waist if the excess skin is abundant there.

Combination

The combination of the two techniques can be done but by a qualified surgeon. It is dangerous to ignore the signs of an unqualified doctor just for the sake of paying less. Both the tummy tuck and the liposuction can be done at the same time but will last for several hours. Usually, the doctor will do the liposuction first to achieve the saggy skin and then follow it with abdominoplasty procedure. This can be time saving and less expensive than doing both at separate times. The problem with this combination is that the two operations may be too taxing on the human body. The reaction of the body can be erratic and unpredictable. The effects of the drugs can also expire and the risks of adding more drugs to sedate or anesthetize the patient may be dangerous depending on the state of health of the patient.
