Are you eating salads for lunch and dinner,Tummy Tuck: Giving You Back Yourself Articles exercising an hour a day at least three times a week, and avoiding everything that has more than 150 calories and any amount of sugar and fat, and you still have a bump? Not only is it embarrassing it’s a little frustrating as well. All you want is your body back, the way it was years ago before everything got all stretched out. What you need to remedy the problem is a tummy tuck.

A tummy tuck might sound extreme, but it really isn’t. If you’ve had children, then your muscles in your abdomen are worn out. They are stretched to their limits and there is no getting them back, at least no getting them back without a little help. That is where this procedure can do the work for you. It can give you back the thing you most longed for, it can give you back the shape you had before you had children.

A tummy tuck is a relatively simple procedure. Your physician will make an incision just above the pubic bones. Once the incision is made he will remove any excess fat and tissue. Once the excess is removed he will then reinforce those worn out muscles giving them some of the strength they once had. Once this is done he will pull the skin tight, remove any excess and close the incision. He may leave a stint in place to help drain some of the excess fluid that can build up after a procedure like this. If you had a preexisting scar such as a c-section scar, the new incision will incorporate this so that you will only have one small scar, which will be below the waistline on most bikinis and pants.

Once your tummy tuck is completed don’t expect to run out and get a new swimsuit that afternoon. You will have some recovery time, about two to six weeks depending on your body. Most women are able to go back about their normal business, have the stint and stitches removed and walk straight by the end of two weeks. Your recovery time will vary based on how well your body recovers, how much rest you’ll be able to get and how closely you follow your doctor’s orders. If you want a quicker, less painful recovery it is imperative that you follow your doctor’s orders.

Tummy tucks are simple, but do require some down time. If you have a brand new baby at home you can still have one of these procedures, but you may take longer to recover because rest is difficult to come by with a small child. You also need to ensure that you have adequate help around the house, no matter how old the kids are, so that you can concentrate on getting better, and not hurting yourself worse. Getting back your figure is possible, with a little help.
