When the blood sugar level of a person is high then it is called diabetes. Diabetes is of two types; Type 1 diabetes when the body is unable to produce insulin- a hormone normally created by the pancreas which helps in the absorption of the sugar( formed by the breaking of the starches in the food during digestion) by the cell for performing body functions. For those who have diabetes it is important to follow a properly planned diet, do regular exercises and take medicines regularly. There are many diet plans for the diabetic people. Low carb diet plan aims at low intake of carbohydrates. There are many food products which have starches naturally such as rice, potatoes, grains, fruits etc. These starches break down into sugar during digestion. Due to lack of insulin or improper working of insulin, blood sugar remains high in the diabetic people.
