Particular lifestyle habit can either increase of decrease the amount of nutrition our body absorbs on a daily basis and so itís important to reduce those activities that will hinder the bodyís ability to absorb the nutrition its being given.

Nutrition is the source of energy of our body. Without proper nutrition our body wont function well. There are a number of places from where we can obtain nutrition; the environment in which we live, the food we eat and the amount of physical activity our body endures. Our body needs a host of different things to function properly. The lack of even one can causes problems. Proteins, carbohydrates and fats are the macronutrients our body needs. These macronutrients are needed to maintain and regulate bodily functions. Most people who have an averagely active life should get about 50% of their total calories from carbohydrates, 15-20% from protein and 30% from a fat source. Those indulging in endurance sports like long distance biking and marathon running should get about 60-70% of their total daily diet from carbohydrates. Micronutrients are nutrients are those nutrients that are required only in small quantities. They come in the form on vitamins and minerals. A varied diet can ensure that you get some amount of these micronutrients. They are required for the proper functioning of several parts of the body. Hydration is one of the most important aspects of maintaining a health body. 60-75% of our bodyís composition is water. Although we donít realize it, water is a very important component of nutrition. It is required for several important functions like regulation of body temperature, absorption of nutrients, and elimination of waste products from the body. An average person should drink about 6-8 glasses of fluid a day to stay hydrated. Fluid isnít only water, it can also be vegetable and fruit juices. Insufficient water in take can lead to dehydration, dizziness, and dryness of the mouth, headaches and improper digestion. Eating a well balanced diet is the easiest way to protect us from many diseases. If we are over weight eating a balanced meal can be an important first step towards weight loss.
