You are probably pretty aware of how your teeth make your appearance. While no one will openly admit it,What is Invisalign? Articles we all notice people’s teeth and are often quick to sum up a judgment on what we think about their character. If you see someone with a less than stellar smile you might think they are lazy or don’t take good care of themselves, when that could be further from the truth. If you suffer from crooked teeth or have large gaps in your smile you probably have considered braces to fix the problem. Then you have the embarrassment of a mouth full of metal. Invisalign can take care of the problem without the embarrassment.

What is Invsialign? It is a clear retainer, of sorts, that gently move your teeth into place. In the past to do this you’d have to have metal wires attached to your teeth. Over time these wires would have to be tightened pulling your teeth into the position that you want them into. These metal wires could be painful and adjustments are not something that most people would look forward to. There have also been complaints that the metal wires could be uncomfortable in general, not to mention unsightly to see.

With Invisalign there are not painful wires in your mouth. You don’t have to go to your orthodontist for him to put pliers in your mouth and tighten the wires to the point of causing you pain and anguish each month. Instead you will be given a series of trays that you will trade out at regular intervals to make your smile look its best. The entire process is virtually pain free and because the trays are clear most people won’t even notice that you are straightening your smile until it is all said and done.

The gradual process of Invisalign is custom made to your mouth. Each tray is made specifically for your mouth so you don’t have to wonder, is this going to work. And unlike the traditional metal method you don’t have to worry about food getting stuck in the wires. The trays are easily removable so that you can eat, brush and floss without worry about things getting stuck. You simply put the tray back in when you are done eating to continue the straightening process.

With Invisalign you can get the smile you want in as little as twelve months. Each smile is different so some cases will take longer than other cases. Your dentist will be able to give you an exact time line when you go in for your consultation. You owe it to yourself to have the best smile you can get. While each insurance company is different this service is covered by most companies so you will pay little out of pocket expense to change the look of your smile.
