All my adult,Why I Have Health Insurance Articles married life I have always done the right thing and have had a decent, affordable health insurance. After all it is how I grew up, I remember us always having it. There were times that I did not want it or could not afford it but I knew that someday it would pay off for us.

I worked for a small firm and they provided a good policy that covered my entire family. We had a co pay for doctor visits, dental and vision and full hospital coverage after a small deductible. We were mostly all healthy and between the three of us we may have only have seen a doctor maybe two or three times a year and can't remember when we had a hospital stay.

Around four years of age my son started suffering some strange symptoms and the doctors thought he might have MS. With our spirits high we waited for more signs and then tons of test and finally like a horrible dream it was confirmed.

My son seems as if he is taking it better then us, always smiling and staying positive. The most difficult part for us was and still is learning to cope. We have certainly learned a lot from him and will probably continue to in the future.

If we were without health insurance I can't begin to imagine how we could have gotten though it. Would I have been able to afford the type of consistent, professional health care that my son is being provided with today and what our life would really be like? The bills have been quite overwhelming in the past and its not getting any cheaper. There is no way we could have handled this without being covered, I don't think anyone can. Between the stress and the emotional roller coaster combined with the worry of how we were going to pay for it, I believe it would be impossible. We are all certainly grateful for the insurance company, they have always made a conscious effort and have continued to pay as the bills come in.
