Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that changes the size or shape of the breasts. The surgery is performed at an outpatient surgery clinic or in a hospital. Most women receive general anesthesia during surgery so that they are asleep and pain-free. However, oral anesthesia and medicine may also be administered.
