Worried About Your Health?

Cerebal palsy will affect the muscle tone, movement and motor skills.

I’ve given up reading articles on health as a dead loss and I know because I read everything I could find. Most people who know me would probably have said I was a health freak. It’s probably easy to understand because I was hugely overweight and after losing it and getting as shape back then perhaps you can understand why someone becomes obsessed with staying that way.

Any articles on health I could find to help with my fitness, diet, supplements to help prolong life, I would read them.  That’s all changed now though because when I read an article on health now I just get angry because they keep changing their minds about what is good or bad for you. It’s no good telling people how good soy is one day than saying it can have adverse effects the next. I swear, all I want is to find the perfect diet, the perfect exercise routine, and the perfect lifestyle to keep myself as healthy as I can for as long as I possibly can.

Sometimes you become your own worst enemy by reading all the articles that contradict because you just become confused and disillusioned. Now take coffee, alcohol and chocolate, three great American favorites, which were considered detrimental to your health, until recently, that is. The experts that told us not so long ago that these things were bad for us are now saying the complete opposite, for instance red wine is good for the heart and dark chocolate can be good for stress, dark beer or Guinness is also as is coffee but all, I hasten to add in moderation. It is just as stupid as saying that dairy ice cream and cake are good cholesterol reducing foods.

It has taken me a long time but in future, I will look after my own interests, be the judge of what I will and will not eat and ignore what these people say. Of course it won’t stop me reading articles on health but in future I will decide how much of it I take notice of. Still, I don’t doubt that reading the odd article on health will be worthwhile because I can pick up some good exercise tips and how to eat a balanced diet, the rest will be up to me. Of course I want to have a healthier life and be happier at the same time but I believe it is now down to my judgment with very little interference from the food police.
