If your George Clooney,You're Never Too Old For the Orthodontist Articles you can get away with having a crooked grin and women will swoon over your sexy smile and the paparazzi will plaster your picture all over their papers but for the rest of America- a crooked smile may mean crooked teeth or an overbite and that means a call to the orthodontist to find out if you're ever too old for braces.

The answer is you're never considered too old to correct your smile or your bite pattern. Your teeth don't come with time restrictions on them so even if you didn't get braces when you were a teenager it doesn't mean you can't have braces now as an adult.

Talk to your orthodontist about what options are available that will fit your needs and age. Your dentist may surprise you by telling you that almost half of the patients that wear braces are not the kids and teens that you may associate with braces. In fact almost half of all of those who wear braces are between the ages of 18 and 29 years old and the next largest groups of those that wear braces are between 30 and 49 years of age.

Clearly braces aren't just for kids anymore. And that may be because the options when it comes to straightening your teeth have changed to keep up with the times. For example it wasn't that long ago when the only thing your orthodontist could offer you was metal braces that were not attractive and took years to correct an overbite, under bite or crooked smile. Two years being known as metal mouth is a long time to endure just to emerge with a better smile.

Your options available today for a better smile are more discreet and sometimes may even be more time efficient as well. For example instead of metal braces your orthodontist may find that you are a good candidate for Invisalign braces that work without being so obvious, living up to their name in more way than one.

Many older adults who are just now addressing their smiles reportedly are doing so for two reasons beyond just the ability to hide their braces with technology. Some patients simply couldn't afford braces when they were younger or they may have encountered out dated technology and were told there was nothing that could be done to correct their teeth back then.

And since you're never too old for second chances you're never too old to get the smile you want either- no matter what kept you from getting it before. Most patients regardless of their age tell their orthodontist that the outcome to get their straight smile was well worth the financial price tag and the time commitment.

So George Clooney, eat your heart out, you don't have to have a crooked smile or be a Hollywood heart throb to look sexy anymore.
