Yesterday,Tattoo Care Tips Articles I touch on how to properly take care of your tattoo and how to ensure that your tattoo’s color stays as vibrant as it did the day you got it for as long as you can. Well I thought I would go into a little more detail on how to take care of your tattoo right after you have gotten it. First things first your tattoo artist should have some sort of print out to give you describing in detail how you are suppose to take care of your new tattoo. In case they don’t provide one I’ll inform you on what to do.

First you need to leave the bandage on for at least a few hours and when those hours are up you need to gently wash off your tattoo with warm water using a gentle soup. Make sure you wash it with lukewarm water and be forewarned that your skin will be very sensitive and it may burn. After you have gently washed it and dried it, coat your tattoo with bacitracin. You will need to do this a few times a day for the first week or until the scab has completely fallen off your tattoo.

Secondly, you must stay out of the sun! Do not submerge it in water or soak it, keep harsh soaps and or chemicals off of it. Try your best to restrict the amount of rubbing or friction on it from clothes and lastly do not put your tattoo under running water. I know what you are thinking how can I shower? Don’t worry you can shower but trust me your tattoo is going to burn and sting once the water hits it so you will learn real quick on how to shower without getting the place of your tattoo very wet.

I hope these little tips help you to care for you new tattoo. If you follow these steps to a T and don’t pick out your scab your tattoo should heal up very nicely.
