In recent years,The Vantage Pro 2 Articles home weather stations have become increasingly popular among storm chasers and weather enthusiasts alike.  Davis Instruments, a leader in professional and personal use weather stations, has designed some of the most popular and functional weather stations to date.  Their newest advancement in weather stations, the Vantage Pro2, combines all the features of their older models in conjunction with new technology and web based programs. The Vantage Pro 2 uses frequency hopping spectrum radio to transmit and receive data and is the first product to do so in its price range.  While the standard model uses wireless transmission of data, cable versions are available. For increased precision, the Vantage Pro2 houses its temperature and humidity sensors inside a radiation shield that protects against solar radiation and reflected heat.  Their integrated sensor suite combines the rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors, and anemometer into one package to make setup easier while improving performance and reliability. The Vantage Pro 2 Plus also includes solar radiation and UV sensors, while additional probes and sensors can provide information on soil or water temperature, soil moisture and leaf wetness, essential to turf farms and horticultural operations, and a welcome source of information to those of us with large gardens. All weather station data can be linked to a computer via the Davis Instruments website and their Weather World 'Round application allowing users to connect with other weather stations around the world and compare data.  With all the features and benefits, the Vantage Pro 2 certainly isn't your run of the mills weather stations and is not intended for causal weather watchers.  But, for those avid enthusiasts who want a flexible, reliable and affordable weather station, this system just can't be beat.
