A Short Blog About the Various Styles of Flooring I have Effectively Used in my Home

Recently I have been involved in the process of refurbishing my house which I have taken great pleasure in and I have become somewhat of an expert when it comes to flooring.

Flooring can be a vital characteristic of any room and could even be regarded as a focal point, and so should not be ignored and abandoned, it can make your home look and feel complete.

During the time I have been decorating my home I have found out alot about the different types of flooring. One very useful pieces of advice is to always use flooring samples when available before you invest.

In my home I have primarily used wooden flooring, especially in the bedrooms and dining room, as it gives the house a sophisticated edge regardless of the interior decoration of the room. A room can be modern and minimalistic, or old-fashioned and rustic, but will still benefit from the added feature of a wooden floor. Simply because it is so versatile.

Hardwood flooring can come in a range of styles and colours. it makes the job of cleaning up after them, so much easier. There are however, some rooms of the house where wooden flooring is impractical. In particular rooms like bathrooms and kitchens as water can have a disastrous effect on wooden flooring.

For rooms like this, its is best to use a flooring material like tiles or laminate. Both of which are very resistant and can cope with drips, stains and even flooding. Carpets are not advised in these rooms either, for the same reason as hardwood flooring, they can easily be damaged when exposed to the elements. Carpets are more suitable in bedrooms and living rooms, they make a room feel more comfortable and relaxed.

In my bathroom at home I have a laminate floor, however it does misleadingly look like a wooden floor Many laminates presently are designed to trick the eye to thinking the floor is made of wood or tiles, but is in fact a photographic image transferred onto a tough layer of board, they are also less likely to suffer from scratches than real wooden floors. Laminate flooring is a cheaper and more effective way of having realistic looking wooden floor in any room of the house.

Despite laminate flooring being synthetic it appears and feel very real. I used a hardwood flooring dallas company not only for my bathroom, but also my kitchen. Various styles and colour of laminate are available to add to the overall décor of that particular room. Tiling can be used as flooring of kitchens and bathrooms however tiles are much more costly.

I have used a range of materials, when decorating my house. I have tailored it to suit the needs of each room and my budgetComputer Technology Articles, I hope my blog helps you!!
