You’ll often hear that how to succeed in network marketing comes down to the business being a numbers game. MLM success is not a numbers game, it is a personal relationships game.

Often times you may've heard that how to succeed in network marketing – also known as MLM or multi level marketing – is all about your business being a numbers game.

Let’s say you’re discussing your business with somebody. She’s displaying curiosity in the network marketing industry but she also has her doubts. She is looking for assurance that if she does begin a network marketing business she’s making the right decision.

You'll be talking with a real person. She's somebody's sister. She's a mom, a wife, an aunt and maybe a grandmother.

In the event she senses that you see her as being a part of your multi level marketing numbers game, she will pick right up on it. Most likely if you see her as just a number you’ll draw on some kind of a high pressure tactic to get her into your business.

However, provided you connect with her on a personal level – to be aware of her desires for wanting to initiate a business to begin with – you will be seen as a valuable resource by her. She will then see you as someone who cares and as a person who can assist her in realizing her dreams.

If you make it your mission in network marketing to be seen as a true resource to others, you'll be in great shape.

At the gamble of sounding too mushy, speak with people from your core. Let them feel the concern and interest you have for their dreams.

When you connect with people on a personal level and understand their goals for wanting to start a business then you will succeed in mulri level marketing.

When you're speaking with others about your business, it's what they're after which is most important not what you're after.

By helping others to acquire what they want then you will get what you want in the process. And that is an undeniable, universal truth.

Please, go ahead and read the previous two sentences once more. Those two sentences represent the most important business theory you will ever uncover.

Additionally, keeping yourself stuck on the numbers game of MLM means you’ll have an open door policy for your business. What is bound to happen is you'll be left thinking that stuffing "numbers" into your business is the key to MLM success.

Additionally, believing that network marketing is a numbers game will lead you to think that such nonsense as the 3 foot rule is actually effective business building.

Are you familiar with this crazy rule?

What "the 3 foot rule" tells you is that anybody within 3 feet of your reach, at any given time, is a prospect for your MLM business.

How ridiculous! The last thing I personally would want to do is pitch a stranger on my business. The only thing the 3 foot rule will do for you is ostracize others.

Finally, let me say this; no doubt that a much smaller percentage of the people you talk to will actually join your opportunity but so what.

Taking the time and steps necessary to connect with the right folks for your opportunity will put you sufficiently ahead of the success curve and will save you a ton of frustration in the process.

Most importantly never forget, network marketing is about connecting with people, it's not a numbers game.
