Become Self Employed Without Spending Anything

Many people thing about having their own small business and becoming self employed but sadly few even try to do it. It just remains a dream. It's understandable why they don't take the plunge since a traditional business requires a lot of initial start up capital.

The current economic troubles the world over are another reason to consider starting your own business. Employment is not so secure as it used to be but that is also a good reason not to risk too much money on a new business venture.

Start up capital for a small business is probably the greatest problem but thankfully now, with the internet, it is possible to create your own online business with virtually zero start up costs and also next to nothing in running expenses.

Over the years I have tried various types of business. My only failure was a traditional business, a fast food restaurant. High start up costs, high running costs and little profits. Never again!

Shortly after that fiasco I started to do some freelance work on the internet which turned out to be considerably better. Less stress and more profits. I now continue to be self employed and spend most of my online business time as an affiliate marketer.

Affiliate marketing really is an excellent method for a newcomer to get started with their own profitable online business. There are several reasons for this.

#1 – You can start affiliate marketing with absolutely zero investment capital and can run the business with no costs whatsoever. Although this is true, once profits start to come it it is advisable to re-invest in the business.

#2 – Due to the internet, affiliate marketing online businesses can grow exponentially which isn't possible with traditional business models.

#3 – The profits from affiliate marketing can be much higher that other types of business ventures that self employed people can try.

Like all businesses the secret to success is to know what you are doing. I probably didn't have a clue about the fast food restaurant business which certainly led to my failure. I also didn't have a clue about affiliate marketing when I started but I studied all I could find so that I would become profitable in as short a time as possible.

With zero start up costs and nothing to pay to run the business the only investment is your own time and effort.

There really is no excuse for people not to try their own online business. It does take work but I've always found it enjoyable and once the checks start to come in you're hooked for life.
