By doing these things, the results have been in many cases nothing short of phenomenal.

The best example I can think of would be the movie industry where a lot of movies are just repackaged or based on the same storylines as previous movies, just modernized to increase their appeal to the movie going audience. For example, there is no need to develop new superheroes when the likes of Superman and Batman to name two, are already so popular. There are many moviegoers that grew up with these super heroes in cartoons and still enjoy these characters on the big screen in high tech movies as adults.

For this reason, time that is spent on thinking up new ideas can better be spent on improving those things that has already proven themselves in the marketplace. You should find something that is popular and think of ways to capitalize on it by modifications and improvements.

To improve your chances of success, stay away from things that though hot in demand, are completely saturated and hard to compete in.. Unless you can come up with something that you have good reason to think you can compete in and make a decent profit, you should avoid it at all costs. Finding a good niche that is not too crowded with competition is your best bet and the best strategy, to increase your chances of success in business. 

Beginning a work at home online business with a product should entail being able to obviously sell it online, and be deliverable electronically (over the internet) to make the world your potential market. It should be cheaper for the interested person and more convenient for them to receive than by offline means.

Amazon.com is the most famous online business I can think of that caters to different niches and has become a master of this. The books they sell can be bought offline, but by selling them online, they have made the pricing more competitive, made the transaction very simple process enabling them to become the most successful and largest online bookseller in the world. They have books for countless niches that are sought after worldwide.

Keep your eyes open, look around, look on television, stores, magazines, and newspapers for things that sell and you can improve upon in one way or another. You may wind up the next Amazon.
