It goes without saying that if you have a work from home business website and you are writing a blog about your products and services that you have to keep the content relevant,How to Get Results from Your Blog Articles interesting and written in a way that is both easy to understand and useful to the reader.

If you want your blog to build and generate traffic to your website, it is useful to have some search engine optimisation techniques which can help to improve the rankings for blog. In other words, when a potential customer types in a set of words into a search engine that is relative to your work from home business, your blog article is at the top, or near the top of the rankings.

Your blog and search engine optimisation.

Different search engines all use different types of ranking algorithms which they use rank the order of websites that are listed to user when they search for a particular set of keywords. This is why you will get different results on different engines. However, there are a few tips that you can use on your blog that will have useful results on most search engines.

Use keywords in your blog.

As mentioned above, a potential visitor may well visit your website by typing in a word or set of words - and these words are called keywords. Keywords are one of the simplest ways to optimise rankings. Ideally, you want to have your keyword density around 2% to 5%. Keyword density is the percentage of the total word content on a given web page. For example, if your blog is 500 words, your keyword (or keyword phrase) would appear 10 times for a 2% keyword density.

Remember though that you do not want to 'stuff' too many keywords into your blog or it will become unreadable. Also, it is important to make the keywords as relevant as possible. For example, if you wanted to know how to grow roses, you would not simply use the term gardening.

Generate quality back links.

Back links, also known as inbound links, are another factor to provide results. Back Links are links that are directed towards your work from home website from other websites. When search engines calculate the relevance of a site to a keyword, they look at the number of quality inbound links to that website. The more relevant the website that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the back link. Therefore, if your blog is about gardening, a link from a cake baking website is not very relevant.

Use pictures in your blog.

When writing your blog, using pictures, images or photos will improve search engine rankings with some search engines. When you upload an image and you give it a title (or image tag) the search engine will view the information provided in the image tags. So, if you tag your image with a relevant keyword, the search engine will take this into consideration when proving search results.

Keep your blog interesting.

Finally, one of the simplest ways to drive traffic to your blog is to regularly update it and keep it interesting. An interesting blog is much more likely to maintain blog traffic and generate new traffic because readers will keep coming back to the blog and will recommend the blog to others within the target audience.
