Keeping up with Kearns Utah

In 1848, Kearns Utah was settled along the Jordan River but didn’t grow too much until an air force base was built during World War II.  In 1946, the base closed and the locals took over.  Kearns still isn’t an official city but a community council is expected to move that direction soon.  Median income in Kearns is $53,249 with a population of 37,707.  11% of the population rents and Kearns homes number 9,401.  About 45 inches of snow and 14 inches of rain normally fall in one year.  The June high averages 92 degrees and the January low is averaging 19.

Many of the Locals in Kearns take advantage of the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center.  Amenities include: a fitness room, tennis and basketball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, and much more.  Not too far away is the Utah Olympic Oval where the long-track speed skating events were held in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.  In the summertime, the facility is open to the public for skating.

With large decreases in home prices, Kearns Real Estate is even more affordable and is averaging sales prices of about $150,000.
