Keeping your stuffed animal clean

In case your stuffed animal is wearing clothes, remove them and wash them separately, even in the washing machine. This is important as the color of the stuffed animal's fur may at times bleed onto the clothes which they are wearing.

You may even clean the stuffed animal without using a washing machine. You can give them a dry bath with baking soda. You need to sprinkle the baking soda on the stuffed animal. Wait for twenty minutes and then simply brush this baking soda off. Or else you may use baby powder. This process will help you to clean off any surface dirt.

In case of badly stained or soiled stuffed animal, you may use a soft scrub brush along with an all purpose cleaner. In case of any plastic parts having any spots or stains, rub alcohol in order to remove them.

For stuffed animals that have dust mites you must place them in a plastic bag. Next, place it in a freezer overnight. In case you do not have a small stuffed animal or are not having room in the freezer, you may even place it outside on a cold night when the temperature is below freezing. Next day, remove the toy and vacuum it gently as well as thoroughly.

Once the stuffed toy has been washed, or in case it has become very wet, do not use a clothes dryer as this will damage the fur of the animal that may sometimes never be repaired. You can never risk losing your child's favorite toy.

The safest and the best way is to air dry the stuffed animal. This may even take up to several days. However, there are times when you need your stuffed animal to dry as quickly as possible. In order to do this, you can use a hair dryer. Ensure that you do not get too close to the fur of the stuffed animal. Also, dry it on the coolest setting that is available.

In case a small amount of some liquid has spilled on to your stuffed toy, simply shake off the loose liquid. Next, pat it dry with the help of a towel or a sponge. Doing all this will ensure that your clean stuffed animal is able to provide you and your child many years of fun as well as happiness.

In case of a too delicate stuffed animal, there is no need to throw it in the washer and dryer. There are many home dry cleaning methods that can be done.
