These shutters are the primitive type and they were originally constructed for simply sunlight control, protections and privacy but they are now used for even rain and storm protections also since the advancement in the material used for its construction. They are hinged to the either side of the window or even at the top of the window and can be swing closed. They are made up of many hardwoods like Spanish cedar or teak that are able to remove moisture from them. The non-functional exterior shutters can be made up of vinyl, wood, or synthetic materials. Another material recently being used is fiberglass. A special hurricane shutteris made up of mostly fiberglass, aluminum, iron or special types of wood.The windows and shutterhave been employed by all the modern homes now and arenow made very beautifully making it an important feature in the home decors. The do not need to get cleans very often like traditional cloth curtains and are quite easy to use.
