As warmer weather approaches, more and more people are looking to set up AC installation appointments. If the old one just isn't the right size or isn't working properly, your entire home can be warm and make everyone inside uncomfortable. The next step is picking out a new one and having the professionals set it up.

Call for an Appointment

When it comes to AC installation, always call sooner rather than later. The warmer the weather, the more people are turning on their units only to find issues and problems. You don't want to wait until there is a rush and have to wait forever to get an appointment. As soon as you turn it on and find out the you need to replace it, get it done.

When you call, be sure to give out all of the important information. The company will need your contact and billing information. Also, they may need to know what type of unit you currently have and what you are going to be switching to. Most people choose to purchase the unit from the company handling the job.

Choose a Date and Time

If you get some choice in the date and time, choose something that fits well into your schedule. You will need to be at the house when the technician gets there and stay for the duration of his or her visit. This may take some time, so you may want to plan to be home a little earlier and a little later than you had originally planned. If you can't be there, try to arrange for someone else to be there. Leave a number where you can be reached in case there are any questions or concerns that need to be addressed.

Before the Appointment

Chances are that while you are ready for an AC installation, your home may not be. Check with the company to see if they can or will remove and dispose of the old unit. If they can't accommodate this, you will need to arrange to have it moved before the appointment. You don't want it in the way as the new one is being put in. Also, be sure that the area around it is completely clear so that the technician has easy access to the area. If you have any types of animals or pets that have access to that area, you will want to bring them in the house so that they too are out of the way.

Be sure to find out about payment. If you need to pay at the AC installation, you will want to have your check ready to go. If you are billed after the fact, you will have a little extra time. Also, check to see if there are any specific instructions from the company about getting ready.

At the Appointments

When the technician gets there, lead him or her back to the area and just let them get the work done. When finished, they will come and let you know that everything is completed. At that time, ask any questions that you have and see if there is anything that you need to do to make sure the system is ready and working properly.
