Do you have a friend or family member that you can call on for a visit? Have you been meaning to get to the library to return those overdue books? How about a local pool (or even the pool in your backyard)? Look around and find out where you can go.

Do you have errands that need to be run? Grocery shopping may not be on your list of favorite things to do, but a nice relaxing walk down the frozen food section will make it all better. The air conditioning from your car as you drive around town taking care of your to-do list will be a welcome change from the way your home feels. Think outside the box and outside the home and see what other possibilities lie right outside the front door.

Find Some Frozen Treats

It sounds strange but a Popsicle may be just what the kiddos need to cool off. If you are stuck at home and you can’t get out, let everyone take a break with an ice cream cone or a frozen fruit snack. You can take everyone outside, let them make a huge mess, and then get out the hose to rinse everyone off and cool down even more. Being outside saves you from having a mess all over the house on top of the AC repair.

Turn On All the Fans

You want to have air circulating through the house and fans are one of the easiest ways to make that happen. Get them all out of storage, give them a quick cleaning and they can provide you with some cool air. While this won’t be as nice as having the air conditioning running throughout the house, it should provide you with some relief.

Prevent the Problem

There is a way to try and avoid this type of issue in the midst of the summer heat. Consider calling up the professionals before the temperatures begin to change.

Have your unit checked out and all of the needed AC repair performed. You can find out if there is a problem or even if there is something that needs to be done before the season gets busy. Avoid having someone come out to the house in the middle of a hot afternoon while you family hangs out without relief from the warm temperatures.
