Building a really basic doghouse seems an easy enough job to accomplish, and it really is. However, I had decided that I'm no design guru so I'd need a good set of just good old basic doghouse plans.

And unless you've a background in building your own projects and have skills in construction techniques, you'll also save more time and frustration than you can imagine. Yet another reason is that a good set of plans will generally come with all the materials and hardware you need. A real time saver!

If I'd gone ahead and drawn up my own design for a basic dog house and tried to put the thing together, my wife would have again proven that I never finish anything when the going got tough or I've no clue how to construct a thing as basic as a basic dog house.

I found out quickly having a good set of doghouse plans allow me to practice all the steps I would need to take before really taking them thus preventing any unnecessary problems. As a matter of face, I would have used pressure treated wood wrongly and actually made my dog very sick... and then who'd be using the doghouse?

I'm a big fan of plans and I'm sure you will be too once you've worked from a really complete and detailed set. Plans save lots of time and they save lots of money as well as headaches. Plans make it much easier to make changes on a project than drawing them up from scratch. Good basic doghouse plans made it possible to complete my weekend project on schedule and on budget.

My wife now brags about what a great carpenter I am and how quickly and effortlessly it all went together. Ha!
