Bosch power tools are known to be some of the best in the construction and tool industry,Bosch Articles but the company(more accurately Robert Bosch GmbH) has a much longer and more interesting history.

The company is over one hundred years old, founded by Robert Bosch in 1886 in Stuttgart, Germany.  They started by engineering and manufacturing car related equipment and machinery and this continues to be the company's main focus to this day.

However, their expertise in machinery and long history of intelligent engineering and design has lead them to be powerful competitors in the power tool industry.  Their first retail tool produced was a power drill created in 1932 and since this initial foray into the industry they have continued to gain a more respected and powerful position manufacturing and creating power tools at world class quality.

With now over 300,000 employees with over 350 subsidiary companies spread across 60 countries and have expanding their product sales to now over 150 countries.

However not only their own branded power tools have this high level of quality.  Their power tools are also being created for several other top quality tool brands under their top quality professional banner.

Such as:
•  Freud
•  RotoZip
•  Dremel
•  Skil
•  Hawera
•  Vermont America

Their products produced are at construction level durability and quality but due to their attractive design and emphasis and portable systems they have been a huge success in the do-it-yourself(DIY) market.

The manufacturing of their products is spread across the globe with a majority of the workforce remaining in Germany with a stake of 36%.  Western Europe is next holding 30% production share.  15% is produced in Asia.  Eastern Europe produces 10% of these products.  5% are produced in North America with the remaining equipment being manufactured in Latin America.

Aside from the automotive and power tool industry the parent company also has interests in the major appliance, packaging and security industries.

A noticeable fact about Bosch in their emphasis on quality and service over cost which has lead to a healthy lifespan of creative and effective equipment.
