Cushions are available in almost every shape or size. Some are in that simple square shape solid colored cushion so familiar to many of us. Others may be shaped like flowers or have a character printed on them. Additional cushions lying in a corner work well for additional seating when the house is full. When the kids have their friends over, they may prefer the cushions to the actual furniture.

If you already have a few cushions lying around the living room that are not doing much to spice up the room, try taking a large piece of fabric and wrapping the pillow inside. Tie a big knot on front to hold everything together and add dimension. Wow, you are a decorator.

In the bedroom, cushions do a wonderful job at adding splashes of color. If you choose a solid color comforter, then the accent cushions can be almost any other color and turn an otherwise uninteresting room into something exotic. Those chair back cushions are great for late night television viewing.

In the dining room, you can add comfortable cushions to hard wooden dining chairs as well as to barstools. If the chairs are comfortable, you may find that the family spends a few more minutes visiting at the table.
