Hampshire building company given high praise by county council.

Hampshire building company PM Building Contractors has been praised for its high standard of service by Hampshire County Council following the completion of schools projects in the area.

Building contracts performed by the company in Hampshire included those at Bentley CE Primary School, Woodlea Primary School, Bordon, St Josephs Catholic VA Primary School, Aldershot, CE Primary School, Farnham and Newport Junior School, Aldershot.

The work the building company completed on the Hampshire schools included the periodic redecoration of buildings and repair work to timber.

The Hampshire Building Company won the contract through an intensely competitive tendering process with other companies.

The exterior redecoration of the schools involved the use of fixed scaffolding and associate works including replacement cladding, joinery, replacement glazing beads, masonry repairs, and cleaning and repairs to all rainwater gutters.

As approved specialist installers of the window care system, the company were able to preserve and repair the timber joinery thus saving Hampshire County Council the high costs involved with timber replacement.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire Building company said: “Completing this work whilst the schools were occupied meant that the safety of the children and staff was of paramount importance.

“With extensive experience of working in this type of environment, PM Building Contractors are sensitive to the issues involved with such work and have the management skills and experience needed for a successful project” he added.

Hampshire County Council undertakes regular monitoring of the performance of Hampshire building companies, collecting feedback from both client and the contract administrator on completion of each building project undertaken.

In a recent review of contractor performance Hampshire County Council awarded PM Building Contractors an impressive 88% for their efforts – putting themselves firmly at the upper-end of the scale for performance.

David Kirkby of Hampshire County Council Property Business and Regulatory Services said: “The overall performance of these contracts was scored by the client as excellent and I take this opportunity to congratulate PM Building Contractors on this achievement.”

“We trust that PM Building Contractors will continue to work with us to improve the quality of service that is provided” he added.
